Foundations as Impact Partners

Reimagining How We Invest in Change

The work of foundations has never been more critical, but there is potential to do more. This session offers a fresh perspective on philanthropy, one that centers on intentionality, partnership, innovation, and strategic investment. Amanda Lopez invites funders to step into a deeper role—not just as grantmakers, but as true partners in transformation.

Transform How You Drive Impact

In a world where philanthropy is evolving rapidly, foundations are poised to play a pivotal role as impact investors, leveraging their resources to drive transformative change. For many foundations, traditional grantmaking is no longer enough.

The stakes are high: every dollar not optimized is a missed opportunity to address pressing social issues. As the demand for effective and sustainable solutions grows, the urgency for foundations to evolve their approach has never been more pressing. As the sector calls for deeper trust, more strategic giving, and lasting impact, Amanda Lopez offers a timely and thoughtful blueprint for change.

This keynote invites funders to evolve from transactional grantors to collaborative partners. Drawing from both lived nonprofit experience and insights from strategic philanthropy, Amanda shows how foundations can shift their mindset and approach to become true allies in change.

Amanda’s voice bridges both sides of the funding table. She speaks to funders not with critique, but with compassion, offering a fresh perspective on what’s possible when we lead with strategy, data, and care.

Client Stories

Creating a Social Sector Ecosystem Strategy

Transform Consulting Group partnered with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne to develop a comprehensive social sector ecosystem strategy, gathering insights from nearly 2,000 nonprofits, 600 community members, and dozens of stakeholders through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. This data-informed effort revealed gaps in awareness and collaboration, leading to a five‑year strategic roadmap—"Collaborate for Change"—designed to boost connectivity, enhance data-sharing, strengthen infrastructure, and promote equity across the nonprofit ecosystem.

Increasing the Quality of Child Care Available Community-Wide

Transform Consulting Group partnered with the Montgomery County Community Foundation to lead a six-month early childhood needs assessment and develop a five-year strategic plan. Through surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews, TCG identified key gaps in childcare access and quality. The resulting strategy helped secure grant funding, establish a community coalition, and create a new director of early learning role—laying the foundation to expand high-quality childcare options and better support local families and workforce needs.

TCG helped us focus on understanding the needs and strengths of the counties we serve. They did this by gathering and interpreting key data and talking with different stakeholders to get a better understanding of their current and future needs. We were so pleased with our partnership and committed to working together for the next 5 years!

We had the privilege of working with Transform Consulting Group to complete a feasibility study. The TCG team brought together key community stakeholders, gathered feedback, and compiled a thoughtful, data-filled report highlighting the feasibility of a county-wide early childhood education center.
