Across the United States, the current supply of child care does not meet the needs of families, which in turn impacts the broader economy. In Indiana, employers lose an estimated $3.05 billion per year due to child care-related employee turnover and absenteeism.
Transform Consulting Group (TCG) has worked with over 40 communities across the nation to help them understand and address their child care needs. We are excited to begin work in three new counties in our home state of Indiana – Fulton, Hendricks, and Steuben!
Over the last month, we kicked off projects in these three counties with partners who are at varying stages of building an early childhood education coalition or task force. These communities have brought together diverse groups of individuals, spanning sectors and experiences, to address issues related to child care and the workforce.
We’ll be working with these communities over the next several months to understand their local child care landscape, engage key stakeholders, identify strategies and solutions, and develop action plans to expand high-quality, affordable care.
We are excited to see this work move forward and are honored to support the many community foundations, economic development corporations, chambers of commerce, and education-system partners who have come together to lead these collaborative efforts!
